Lemhi Valley is an area rich in history and folklore. In fact, just 5 miles from Zeph Creek Ranch is the birthplace of Sacagawea and home to original outfitters and trading companies. The Lewis & Clark Expedition traversed the area in the 1800's, spending their evenings camping under the stars and fishing and hunting for their meals.
In 1831, fur trappers of the Rocky Mountain Fur Company, led by Kit Carson, wintered on the nearby Salmon River banks.
